How does one cut a diamond

Diamonds are cut these days by saw or laser cutter. embed tiny diamonds into a disc and grind the diamond to the specified cut. This is the oldest method of cutting and polishing the diamond. Bruting is the process whereby two diamonds are set onto spinning axles turning in opposite directions, which are then set to grind against each other to shape each diamond into a round shape. This can also be known as girdling. Synthetic diamonds are also used in industrial saw blades or grinding plates.
